Hinton, S.E.
THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS NOW
New York : Dell, 1989.

Bryon tells us how he manages to keep out of trouble -- at least most of the time. On the other hand, Mark, kind of an opposite, has been booked on many an occasion. S.E.Hinton wrote her first novel, "The Outsiders", when she was 17 and during that time she got a D in creative writing. The thing she changes in her realistic fiction is there are no adults in her stories. If you want to read about how folks your age get on without a mom to cook dinner or a dad to hand over the allowance -- try reading an S. E. Hinton novel. This one -- "That Was Then, This is Now" is one I can recommend.
SUBJECTS:      Social problems -- Fiction
