This book was written at a time when World Book Encyclopedia didn't even mention the Mandela's in their article on South Africa. The Mandela's are well-known heroes of the Black effort to stop the discriminatory practices of Apartheid government -- separate rules for Blacks and Whites. Read about Nelson Mandela's wife who brought up two children, was the first Black social worker in South Africa, has been detained, imprisoned, banished from her home, all while her husband was in prison.
