Have
you ever moved from one place to another. Maybe it was in the same
town or state, but maybe it was to a whole new state. In 1933, a
drought and the great Depression caused a lot of people to leave their
homes in search of a better life. And Sadie's family is no exception.
They are leaving their Missouri home and heading for Texas where they hope
to find work. Sadie promises her best friend that they will be best
friends forever and that she will never forget her. But when Sadie
reaches her new home, she may find that she can not keep that promise.
