In the book SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS, a Japanese man is on trial for murder of an island fisherman during the 1940's. A one armed reporter sits in the back of the court room. He doesn't want to be there because he knows things that he can't begin to talk about. The townspeople of San Pedro Island are there too. But they are there with memories of World War II when Japanese hatred was at it's peak. If you want to find out what happens to Kabuo Miyamoto and the secrets that come up along the way, read SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS by David Guterson.
