Twenty-two-year-old
Edith Irvine and her maid Daisy are really looking forward to their upcoming
trip. They will be leaving San Francisco on a ship to Australia.
But then the unthinkable happens. As the girls are sailing in the
bay, they see something they don't understand at first. But then
it becomes clear what has happened to the city. San Francisco has
just been hit by a massive earthquake! In the aftermath of the earthquake,
Edith takes her camera through the devastation and records what she sees.
This is based on a true story and some of Edith's photographs are included
in the book. |
