This is the first in Sue Grafton's Alphabet Murder Mystery series.  We are introduced to Kinsey Millhone, PI.  Kinsey is single, tough and determined to crack the case.  She is hired by Nikki Fife, a woman just out of prison.  Nikki had been convicted of killing her husband and had been pardoned after serving over 9 years in jail.  Still confessing her innocence, she hires Kinsey to find out who really killed Laurence Fife.  This case takes Kinsey back and forth chasing down long cold leads.  Along the way she finds herself falling for one of the players in the case.  At each turn, Kinsey thinks she getting closer only to find herself on the wrong trail.  Follow the clues with Kinsey and see if you can figure out who the culprit is in "A" IS FOR ALIBI.
