Iggy is not what you would think of as a stereotypical 16-year-old kid from the projects.  He doesn't do drugs even though both of his parents do.  As a matter of fact, he was born addicted to crack.  Sure, he's been thrown out of school but that was just a misunderstanding.  The teacher thought Iggy was threatening her but he wasn't.  But Iggy doesn't want to get kicked out.  He wants to be able to go back to school.  It may just be his only chance of getting out of the projects and into college.  But what can he do?  After reading a newspaper clipping, Iggy decides that he must do something heroic and save someone.  Then they will all see how great he is and how he deserves another chance.  But will he get the chance?  How will an encounter with his mentor's family change the course of his life?
