Jan
Kubitzky was stuck at 14 years old. His home in Poland was destroyed. The
Russians left and were replaced by Germans. The soldiers took him and his
neighbor's dog along as good luck. Jan gets more and more involved with
the soldiers. His actions, which started out as friendly gestures, turn
into acts of war against the enemy. When Jan recognizes he's going to be
rewarded for his part in the war, he gets confused. He had no idea why
he should be killing some strangers and not others. Read about Jan's escapades
during World War I. |
