Martin
Luther King was born in 1929. Like most children, he enjoyed playing
with his friends. But most of his friends were white and he was not
allowed to sit with them or go to school with them. During that time,
blacks and whites were segregated. That's a big word that means they
were kept apart. But that made no sense to young Martin. Years
later, Martin decided he wanted to do something to stop segregation.
Find out what Martin and other brave people did to bring our country together. |
