 Eleven year old Nickie is not sure what to expect in Yonwood,  She and her aunt have come here to clean out her great-grandfather's house to get it ready to sell.  What she finds is that she loves the small town life, the wonderful old house and the kids she is meeting.  But in this town, strange things are happening.  With the world on the verge of war, people seem to be looking for hope and in Yonwood, that comes in the form of The Prophet.  She is a local woman who has experienced a vision of doom and now is barely coherent.  Only one woman seems to be able to understand the Prophet's directions and the town goes along with whatever the Prophet says.  But what is the Prophet really seeing?
