Martin doesn't want to admit he really likes his birthday present.  After all, he's 13 now and really too old for toys.  But this robotic dog is just too cool.  Life in the domed city is strictly regimented with daily voting and boring school work.  His sister is the only one in this family who likes school.  That makes sense of course.  She is a Wonder Baby.  They have been genetically engineered to be geniuses.  A lot of the families that bought the babies are a bit scared of them.  But Martin loves his sister and finds himself defended her and her peers.  Although Martin longs to see what lies beyond the dome, his father keeps reminding him that they are the lucky ones to be able to live in the suburbs.  Don't question what is going on.  Just go to school, watch television and vote.  That is what life is all about.
SUBJECTS:     Genetic engineering -- Fiction.
                        Science fiction.
