The old man appeared out of nowhere and seems to be watching Anand.  What does he want with a poor young boy with no future.  Anand feels sorry for the man and gives him some food and water.  This is the beginning of an adventure that Anand could never have dreamed of.  You see, the old man is a healer and had a journey to take.  He entrusts Anand to help him on this long trek to return the magical conch shell to Shangri-La.  Along the way, Anand encounters the forces of evil who try to deceive him and get the shell.
