In The Elephant, striking watercolor illustrations depict a young boy’s exciting journey learning about elephants.  With a crown atop his head, he dances from page to page sharing and, in some cases, acting out the information he learns.  The journey begins in his bedroom where he is reading, “what else?”, but a book about elephants.  The reader, along with the boy, is transported into the book to learn different fun facts.  Whether it be how Asian and African elephants have different shaped ears, how much elephants weigh, how elephants walk on their toes, or discovering the different places elephants live, we are all in for an exciting fact-filled ride.  (New Jersey Garden State Children's Book Award 2021)
