 Mattie is a good student and English is her favorite class.  This year the 8th grade play will be Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.  Mattie is so happy.  She loves Shakespeare.  She gets the part of Paris and is happy that it is not a major part.  Gemma gets the part of Juliet.  And she is great in the role.  But the boy who plays Romeo doesn't really get the play.  Mattie works with him to help him understand but he just doesn't  When he is forced to drop out, Mr. Torres asks Mattie to play Romeo since she knows all the lines and really understands the part.  She is a bit hesitant since she will have to play opposite of Gemma.  And she is finding herself trying to figure out the feelings she has towards Gemma.  And Gemma seems to have those same feelings for Mattie.  What is going on?
