Booktalk #1

What is a BFG? Why a Big, Friendly Giant, of course! Sophie is awake at night when she spies a tall, giant person in a black cloak walking through her London Street and blowing something that looks like a trumpet into the neighbor’s window. All of the sudden, she is snatched by the BFG and taken into Giant country. Follow Sophie’s adventures as she befriends the BFG, meets the Queen of England and matches wits with the other Big, not-so-friendly Giants! Booktalk #2

One sleepless night a small girl named Sophie goes to the window of her orphanage and sees a giant! He seems to be blowing something into the other windows. After she had been discovered spying on him she is snatched and taken away to his home in the desert.
To her relief Sophie finds out that she is very lucky because he is no ordinary giant he is the BFG, The Big Friendly Giant. He tells her that he was only blowing dreams into the children’s minds and about how the other giants that live nearby, who are twice as big, eat little children all over the world.
It then turns into a race against time when they find out the other giants are on their way to England. Does Sophie’s luck last? What will it take for her and the BFG to fend off the evil giants from the sleeping children? Find out when you read this intriguing modern fantasy tale by Roald Dahl titled The BFG.
