Avery and Nora were best friends most of their lives.  They met in first grade and discovered they were both adopted.  And they vowed to find their birth mothers.  As the years went by, the two drifted apart and made other friends.  It is now senior year and Avery has her heart set on getting into Duke where both her parents went.  But for tonight, she is concentrating on the party and her boyfriend.  When Nora shows up, Avery is so surprised.  This is certainly not an event that Nora would enjoy.  Nora wants to talk and give Avery a package.  It's a notebook and written on the cover is Field Guide on Finding Your Family.  Avery hasn't really forgotten all their talk in elementary school.  It's just that she's moved on and hasn't thought about finding her birth mother.  And now she has all Nora's notes.  Then the unthinkable happens.  She learns that Nora has committed suicide.  Avery has to decide if she is going to follow Nora's lead and search or if she just keeps on living her life as always.
