Seven
year old Frankie Foster doesn't have a lot going for him. He has no mother
and is often neglected by his father. He and his brother and sister are
staying with his Aunt Lula. He starts hanging around with some older kids
and they decide to go to the "rich" part of town to steal bicycles. While
stealing a bike, one of the kids steals a pet rabbit and gives it to Frankie.
Frankie comes to care for the rabbit more than anything else in his life.
He must hide the rabbit or questions would be asked about where it came
from. As Frankie's attachment to the rabbit grows, so does the determination
of the girl who owns the rabbit. |
