Daniel and his mother are slaves living during the time of the American Revolution. Daniel's father has earned enough money to buy their freedom but dies before he can pay for them. The money is taken from Daniel's father but Daniel steals them back. Daniel must find a hiding place for the money until he can find a way to buy their freedom.
