"The Perfect Dress" is a romantic suspense novel set to oldies music and exquisite scenery spanning thrity years of one woman's life as a fashion designer specializing in bridal gowns. Her humble beginnings growing up in an ethnic section of Chicago - learning the tailoring and seamstress trade via her old world aunt and uncle and then parlaying her skills to break out of her zip code and enter unfamilar territority in San Francisco and Oahu are considered frivilous and ridiculous by her family and friends. When it would have been much easier to marry right out of the shoot and have babies, the main character opts for bigger and better things. Many stumbles and mishaps along the way,two colorful transgendered roommates, a lover she cannot have -leads to two incorrect marriages and a downward spiral of dispair and depression.  The book is a metaphor for having the right dress and the right man - All of utmost importance during the women's liberation era.

The author, a baby boomer draws from her own experiences. A former social worker, then onto interior designer and finally a writer traveling the country via motorhome with her hhusband and two dogs. She is presently on her second novel.  (Mary Jane Cole, author)
