Nick’s punk band is playing at a New York club one night when his beautiful blonde ex-girlfriend, Tris, for whom he’s still heartbroken, walks in with a new guy.  He quickly turns to this girl he doesn’t know and says “ I know this is going to sound strange, but would you be my girlfriend for the next five minutes?”.

Norah is out at this same New York club trying to get over a lousy relationship.  When some guy from the band asks if she’ll be his girlfriend for five minutes, a date that lasts all night long begins between two witty music-lovers still hurting from their last relationships.

The whole story takes place in just 24 hours and alternates between Norah’s perspective, written by author, Rachel Cohn, and Nick’s view, written by David Levithan.  (Davinna Artibey, Denver Center for International Studies, DPS, CO)
