During
World War II, people's lives were changed wherever they lived. Fourteen-year-old
Ellen lives in Ontario and even though the war is thousands of miles away,
it effects her whole life. Her two older brothers are in the service.
One has been missing in action. The other is in training and will
soon be sent to Europe to fight. And nearby, the RCAF has a pilot
training school. When she meets one of the pilot trainees, Ellen
is not overly impressed. She's not like many of the girls in school
who have gone nuts over boys in uniform. Ellen likes Stephen but
more like a brother than a boyfriend. Through a series of letters
to his family back home in London, we realize that Stephen has feelings
for Ellen that go beyond friendship. Find out what life was like
in Canada during the war and follow Ellen and Stephen as they become closer
during an uncertain time in their lives. |
