Sarah Kent is sixteen and living in Concord, Massachusetts at the start of the American Revolution. She wants to be part of the action. Her father, brother and fiance have all gone off to join in the fight. Sarah and her mother are left home to care for the wounded. Working with so many wounded men, Sarah begins to look at war a bit differently. She even begins to change her mind about James, a young British officer.
