When her father died, Susan Casey sunk into a depression. She decided she needed to get away alone and get her head in a better place. She ended up in Hawaii. She spent her days swimming in the beautiful waters off Maui. And it was here that her life changed. While swimming, she had a close encounter with a pod of spinner dolphins. They swam with her for a bit and then went on their way. She became fascinated with the dolphins and went on to study dolphins around the world. She spent time in Ireland where she met Fungie who lived along in Dingle Bay. In Japan she joined a group working to protect dolphins. This memoir offers a look at different dolphins around the world and the people who love them.
