What if the Great Library of Alexandria had never
burned? What if it still existed, only more powerful,
governing the world we live in? Jess Brightwell is a book
runner for his family, smuggling original books to
collectors on the black market. A job so dangerous, the
simple act of owning an original book is illegal and
considered an act of heresy. When he turns sixteen his
father sends him to train as a scholar in the Great
Library. He will have access to the most rare and valuable
original copies of books, those that the Great Library
will go to any extent to protect. Books and knowledge is
lent via a codex, downloaded and sent electronically. The
Great Library controls everything that is read and any
knowledge that is shared. Jess Brightwell learns quickly
that he isn’t the only one hiding a dangerous secret. He
soon learns the dangerous degree in which in the Library
will go to control the knowledge it shares and how little
value is placed on human life. When a machine is created
by his friend that can jeopardize this control, Jess will
find out just how sinister and powerful the Great Library
really is. Ink and Bone is a wonderful adventure that will
immerse you in a fantastic alternate world where knowledge
is more valuable than those that seek it. (Prepared by:
