FINN MacCOUL AND HIS FEARLESS WIFE : A GIANT OF A TALE FROM IRELAND
New York : Dutton Children's Books, 1999
IL K-3  RL 5.5
ISBN 0525459715

Finn MacCoul is the tallest giant in Ireland, which unfortunately makes him the target of the menacing giant, Cucullin.  Now Finn is not very anxious to meet Cucullin who wants to beat him to a pulp, so Finn and his wife Oonagh must come up with a plan in a hurry. Oonagh convinces Finn to pretend to be his own baby son when Cucullin comes to call.  Thus, Finn is able to trick Cucullin and make him lose his golden finger, which is the source of all his strength.  Come laugh at the silly but effective things Oonagh thinks up to save her husband from his biggest menace!  (Jeannie Bellavance bellavance@erols.com. for Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Awards)
