(2 booktalks)

Booktalk #1

All year long, the students in Mr. Magro's class have writen about thier emergencies and kept them in an SOS file.  Now the years is ending and it is time to read them outloud.  Mr. Magro announces that all the stories have received extra credit except one.  Which one could it be?  Have you had any emergencies like these?

Booktalk #2

Did you ever have a big emergency?  Maybe, you got separated from your friends and family at an amusement park?  Did you ever loose a pet temporarily that you were supposed to be taking care of?   Or maybe, like me, you fell down some stairs and broke your leg! For fun and extra credit, the kids in Mr. Magro’s class have written about their biggest emergencies. Join the students in Mr. Magro’s class as they open the “SOS File” and read the stories out loud and figure out which story did not earn the extra credit.  (New Hampshire Great Stone Face committee, 2005-2006)
