Liz Hawtin
had a hard time at the best of times. When her dad
died and entrusted his estate to his sister for
Liz's care. However, Liz was made to feel like a
boarder. The money ran out just as Liz's school was
evacuated to the country because so many bombs were
falling on London. This story is about her
adjustment to the personalities of the people who
had wanted a boy but who had taken her in. It's
about her trip back to London to rescue her cousin
and it's about her becoming one of the family for
the first time in her life.
