I love finding books that tell me about people I would never have heard about.  This is the story of a woman named Marie Tharp.  She lived at a time when women were not encouraged to learn about science.  But she was fascinated by maps.  Her father was a map maker and she often helped him.  She was curious about what was under the ocean.  No one knew.  Was it flat or were there mountains that no one could see?  She wanted to know but no one would let her go out and explore.  That didn't stop her though.  Find out how she used science to not only map the ocean floor, but to prove an important theory about the earth.
