Have
you ever wondered what dogs and cats are thinking when you go to school
and leave them at home? What about the animals on a farm where children
have been playing all summer? Well the barnyard animals become bored
when the children who have been on the farm all summer return to school
so they decide to take matters in their own hands and they head to the
library. The librarian isn’t quite sure why they are there or what
they want because of their unusual speech. The hen eventually clucks
the words, “Book, book, book!” The animals will not be left out of
the school scene because they go back to the barnyard and have their own
story time, complete with a puppet show, thanks to the cow. Bet you’ll
think twice about what your animals are doing while you’re sitting in a
classroom or better yet…Your LIBRARY! (Laura Linder, South
Carolina Book Awards, 2006) |
