Jerome Foxworthy doesn't get fazed by much. A fatherless junior-high boy, he's the first African-American to be bused into an all-white school. He aces most courses and is quick on the basketball court. One of only two boys in a home economics cooking class, Jerome has some work cut out for him in trying to settle into a friendship with Bix Rivers, the other guy in the cooking class. Bix is bothered by something that makes him spooky to be around but Jerome is intrigued. The guy is a good athlete, they seem to get along fine but JayFox has to write Bix's story -- its' got him so bugged.
