Brenner, Barbara
A KILLING SEASON
New York : Four Winds Press, 1981.
IL 5-8 .

Allie Turner hates it when her brother takes her information about where bears are feeding to bait them and kill them during the hunting season. Don Bridges is a wildlife biologist who also stalks the bears to tag them and learn their habits and set the limit for next's year's hunt. Allie starts to follow Don around as he tries to convince her of the importance of his wildlife management scheme. All the while, Allie's taking pictures and developing them -- she gains enough confidence to try to show them at her school -- but she is censored -- too violent, too controversial. When she does show them at the community college, they do create the reaction townsfolk expected.
