Almost everyone likes a secret. And the author of The Name of this Book is Secret capitalizes on that. Cass and Max-Ernest are unlikely friends. They are brought together by their fears and united in a mystery that revolves around the property of a dead magician named Pietro Bergamo (notice the familiar initials). Cass and Max-Ernest come to be in possession of a box called the Symphony of Smells as they try to uncover more about Pietro (from a journal he left behind) and try to evade those interested in the Symphony of Smells. This book is a good choice for sophisticated readers, readers who enjoy mysteries, and readers who enjoy secrets and codes. (Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Award nominee, 2011) |
