MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE
New York : Bantam, 1990.
IL 4-7

Elizabeth Gaynor is a bright sophomore. Her rival for tops in the class is Ben Lee, a Chinese-American transplant from Chicago. When her parents start suggesting there's prejudice concerning Ben, she realizes they're not describing her concept of prejudice -- more like favoritism. Brad Mudville, the guy next door, whom she's known since sandbox days, has a crush on her, and he's the last person she's interested in. Her own expectations about Brad -- the stereotypical dummy -- is just as engraved as some of the racist statements flying around about Ben Lee.
