Long ago in a galaxy far, far away… Eighteen-year-old Viv Ahvren is a warrior of a proud race of humanoids, the Vivitare. The Vivitare have recently conquered the T’Chin confederation of planets where 40 species of intelligent beings live. Meanwhile, Ahvren’s sister, Sabri, has been promised to marry a man she detests, Davrik, the emperor’s son. Ahvren plots a way to ask for Sabri’s freedom by volunteering to uncover a the source of a rumor to kill the emperor. He consults an bibliogoth to help him. An bibliogoth is a scholar, and this particular bibliogoth is part of the T’chin species, who look like extremely large insects to us humanoids.

Part mystery, part fantasy, but mostly science fiction, A Matter of Profit is sure to please those who love stories about imaginary worlds.  (Melissa Bowman, Melissa.Bowman@pisd.edu, Armstrong Middle School,  Lone Star Book Award nominee, 2003-2004)
