When
Future Homemakers of America was the most popular extra-curricular activity
for young women, Marjorie just didn't belong. Her tomboy appearance and
“who cares” attitude was out of the norm. The boy bike, unshaved legs,
and boy’s gym clothes were an embarrassment to her family, but she couldn’t
understand why. With pressure from her mother and friend Janie to be the
good, church-going, proper young lady that was set by society standards,
Marjorie just couldn’t follow. Marjorie found herself in a time trying
to fight the role of a submissive housewife, but could she win the fight?
