Brad Stanislawski isn't having a very good day at school.  Thank goodness it is the last day of sixth grade.  Summer vacation is ahead.  But then his mother learns that plans have changed.  She has no one for Brad to stay with while she is away on a trip so she comes up with an alternative.  Brad will go to Pennsylvania to stay with the grandfather he has never met.  He's not looking forward to it but what can he do?  When he gets there he finds out that his grandfather lives above a funeral home!  Actually, he's the owner of Stanislawski Funeral Home!  What is poor Brad in for?  What will summer hold for Brad as he experiences funerals, fly-fishing perogi, and polka?
