I
was late to school today…… I saw my principal on the street so I followed
him. Why? Don’t you know there’s a war on? I followed
him and snuck into an apartment building and overheard his conversation.
He told some lady he wants my teacher, Miss Gossim, fired. He must
be a spy. Why do I think that? Don’t you know there’s a war
on? I need to stop this. Why would he do this?
My dad would know what to do, but he’s not around. Why not?
Don’t you know there’s a war on? Things are so crazy. My mom’s
working at the Naval yard. My dad’s letters have holes cut in them
and I spend my free time collecting scrap metal from strangers. Why?
Don’t you know there’s a war on? (Meg Torrens, megtorren@yahoo.com,
Palmetto Bays Elementary, Myrtle Beach, SC) |
