As I was watching the Space Shuttle launch, I thought back to the time when space flight was still only a dream.  Back in the 1960s, there was no space flight and man had never been to the moon.   But a daring group of men helped to change that.  These men were willing to go where no man had gone before.  It took tremendous courage to sit on top of a huge rocket and be shot off into space.  John Glenn was one of these men.  He was the first man to orbit the Earth back in 1962.  And the oldest man in space in 1998.  This is his story.
