Finally enjoying a day off from school, Lyle, Dave and Marilla are having breakfast at the local Qwikpick when they overhear an interesting conversation. An electrician is telling his buddies about a job he had at the nearby research laboratory. While doing work in the basement he spotted a rat with an actual human face! The decision is unanimous. Lyle, Dave and Marilla decide that seeing that rat is their mission. But there are a lot of obstacles. The research facility is now closed and it’s too far to access by bike. How will they get there? And if they do, how will they get inside and manage to get a picture of the rat? And hopefully their parents won’t find out what they’re up to----because if they do--they will be facing some big trouble and it may even put their friendship at risk. Will this adventure be their last? (Garden State Children's Book Awards, 2018)
