Sandor is a sixteen year old who dreams of being a writer someday. He spends
time snooping on people to get ideas for stories. He befriends an ex-con
in hopes of getting ideas for a story. His parents disapprove of John's
friendship with the ex-con and think John is involved with drugs. John's
girlfriend is worried that John seems depressed and she invites him to
go with her to her suicide prevention group. She realizes that he only
wants to go so he can use other peoples' feelings to write about. When
everyone begins to doubt that John will ever be a writer and becomes angry
at being used by him, John has to rethink his ambitions. Will he come to
realize that he can't depend on second hand feelings? Will he be able to
look into his own heart and write about what is important to him?
