Set in the mysterious Midnight Court, Lucas Bell is a lonely orphan.  His guardian is the evil Sir Randolph Grimsby.  When things are looking intolerable, a young girl arrives at the mansion.  Anna Marie is spoiled rotten and not friendly at all.  After a fire at the mansion, Lucas and Anna Marie are forced out onto the streets, penniless and with no hope.  If you have enjoyed the Lemony Snicket books, give this one a try.  You might just be surprised.
